I had always wanted to watch a movie at GSC Gold Class ever since I know there is such thing, but I just can't find a movie that is good enough so that paying RM40 per ticket worth every penny of it.
But, finally the time had came when Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was shown, and I decided to watch it at the GSC Signature boutique cinema at the Gardens, Mid Valley. When I am booking the ticket online, I notice that the price of the ticket is RM60 per pax, and not the usual RM40, only to know that the Gold Class in the Gardens are more expansive than the one in 1Utama, but well, f*** it I say, just go!
The Gold Class at GSC Signature at certainly bring movie-watching to a new level as the waiting lounge have three F&B outlets. It’s a pleasant, hassle-free place to dine in or hang out before or after the show. Besides, all Gold Class ticket have a free complementary soft-drinks, but no complimentary pop-corn. For Gold Class, you don't need to bring the drinks or food your ordered to the cinema hall yourself as the waiter will bring it to you before the movie starts.
The Gold Class cinema hall only have about 40seats, and each of the seats are sofas that reclined, with the leg room of first class air cabin. As you can see from the picture, each sofas come with a blanket and a pillow, so girls with nice hot leg, you can wear your favorite super short shorts and singlet to watch a movie now, and no need to scare that you are freeze to death. The sofas were very comfy with sufficient adjustments for your back and legs, and the blanket was of good quality. I do hope they wash it everytime it was being use though.
There’s also a table in the middle of every two seats and a service call button, and you can press it anytime to call a waiter to serve you. The only complaint about it is that you really need to lean over to speak to the person next to me. If you’re on a date, this is so not romantic as there’s all the distance between you!
All Gold Class cinema are THX equipped cinema though, although it's had no difference with normal THX equipped cinema. The PQ of the movie is also the same you get from normal cinema (no blu ray quality). Besides, another thing I wish is that Gold Class cinema should have it's own toilet behind the cinema hall, so that I don't need to walk quite a distance to the toilet, and miss some part of the movie ;)
Overall, watching movie at Gold Class is really very different from normal cinema, you get great service, and they have like 5 or 6 waiter serving 40 people max. However, I will really only watch at Gold Class again if there's another movie worth to watch, as the damage is RM122 for 2 person!
PS: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a great movie in my opinion although many
complaint sucks, especially those who know the original story

olla Sam..
hoping from Lowyat to yours.
Ahh, now i know the Gold Class Features. I have been only to Premiere Class at Berjaya, where tickets are sold at rm20 each. Pretty much the same, except smaller seats, only one waiter and one FB outlet and of course no complimentary drink. Haha.
It looks comfy but the price is "ouch" for my small pocket. Aha! Aha!
Right now, i am waiting for Harry Potter.
Happy monday n happy blogging ya
Hi Rizal :)
I went to Premiere Class at Gurney Plaza,Penang before too. The seats are smaller, but the cinema size are about the same.
The Gold Class is also very "ouch" for my pocket, maybe 1 or 2 great movie per year is enough, as picture and audio quality of cinema is still way behind blu ray quality :D
Aha, speaking about PQ, i agree with you on that.
Right now, i would rather wait for certain movies to come out as a 2 disc special edition dvd.
Frankly, i rather enjoy watching movies at home than going to cinema. Cinema is for socializing. hehe.
Ohh gosh, i am sure you BD player would complete your Home theater awesomeness. Whoaho!!
Lately i find Berjaya Time Square movie experiences kinda dissapointing in terms of sound and PQ. The sound isnt that clean n clear. Not sure how it fares compared to tgv klcc.
i Find my Pioneer Home theater can easily beat GSC Berjaya and i am sure yours can easily beat mine. hahaha.
Hehe, cinema is good for new movies only :p
My HT still not awesome enough, still using HD ready display only :(
BTW, most cinema are disappointing ler, I long time didn't watch movie at Berjaya liao, so not sure, but other cinema I went, the AQ is not really good la
Pioneer's stuff are good stuff :D
