Review: 天香回味鍋 (Tain Siang Hei Wei)

During my last trip to Taiwan a couple of years ago, I had taste a steamboat that I cannot forget. It is the 天香回味鍋 (Tain Siang Hei Wei). The taste is so nice that I cannot forget even after years I had eat, and one day I just try to Google it, only to found out that there's a branch of it here in Malaysia! I am so happy that I don't need to fly to Taiwan and eat it as I can eat it here!

天香回味鍋 is invented by Genghis Khan in the 12Th century for his soldiers to eat. This is because Genghis Khan understands that in order to conquer the world, his soldiers must have strong and healthy body, and eating food with loads of nutrition is the easiest way. The soup is cooked with more than 60 types of plants, and therefore you don't need any sauce to go with when eating.

There are two types of soup to choose from, which is the spicy based - 天香鍋(Tain Siang), and the clear soup based - 回味鍋 (Hei Wei). Most of my friend prefer the 回味鍋 (Hei Wei) as they find that the soup is sweeter, and not so oily.

For me, both soup taste great, and the same as the one I ate in Taiwan. However, I prefer to cook my food in the 天香鍋 (Tain Siang) as I love spicy food, but I prefer to drink the soup of 回味鍋 (Hei Wei) especially after many food are cooked in it.

The right one is 天香鍋 (Tain Siang), while the left one is 回味鍋 (Hei Wei).



Most of the ingredients we ordered are put inside to the pot by the waiter, besides those meat dish where we will only cook it when we want to eat or else the meat will become too hard.



Just can't wait to taste the soup!! Look at the meat too, they are sliced thinly, and you just need to cook it for a while before you eat.



Overall, I really love this steamboat. I will label it as "天下第一锅" (World No.1 Steamboat). Although it's a bit pricey compare to normal steamboat, but it's really worth the price. I will come back to this shop again if I were to visit KL again!

The shop is located at Jalan Pudu. If you are coming from Berjaya Times Square where the main door is on your left, turn left at the traffic light.
